From Curiosity to Combat
What started as a small group of friends studying old manuscripts grew into one of the most active historical fencing communities in the Czech Republic.
Adeptus was founded in 2016 in Brno by a group of enthusiasts united by one belief: that historical combat is not a performance — it's a discipline. From the very beginning, we focused on the European martial arts of the 15th century, the era of George of Poděbrady, when armor reached its peak and longsword fighting was at its most refined.
Today, Adeptus brings together fighters, researchers, and artists who share a passion for authenticity. We train weekly, compete in tournaments, participate in international events, and create immersive projects that combine combat with storytelling.

Authenticity
We study original sources. We use real techniques. We don't simplify history to make it easier — we adapt ourselves to meet it.
Functionality
A technique that doesn't work under pressure isn't worth practicing. Every move we teach is tested in sparring and in armor.
